An Introduction to Our Practice
Dr. Stephen Baker is an eye surgeon who has also completed two subspecialty fellowships in oculoplastic surgery (plastic surgery focused on the delicate tissues surrounding the eye and adjacent facial regions). He is the only oculoplastic surgeon on Vancouver Island, and is a member of the prestigious American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS), which has fewer than 500 members accepted worldwide.
Dr. Baker has devoted his career to excellence in the practice of surgery around the eye, providing patients with the practical benefits of better vision combined with the aesthetic benefits of a more youthful appearance. Preserving the natural movement and function of the eyelid and surrounding muscles and tissues through the most advanced techniques, Dr. Baker avoids the problems of dry eyes, eyelid malpositions, and tearing that can follow eyelid surgery.
Botox along with an array of facial filler can also be used to create a natural, relaxed non-surgical look. These fillers can be utilized on the hands to camouflage the signs of aging.
With a Ph.D. in Medical Sciences, Dionne Baker has added her skills to the practice, focusing on the latest facial rejuvenation techniques including IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) Photorejuvenation, treatments for aged or sun-damaged skin and Rosacea, SilkPeel Dermalimfusion, chemical peels, as well as anti-aging skin care therapies.
Through her training in toxicology Dionne Baker has studied and tested over 30 skin care and mineral make-up lines and selected the top products which employ scientifically proven compounds that can delay the aging process by stimulating the production of collagen, improve the skin’s elasticity, tone, and hydration frequently with greater cost-effectiveness than cosmetic industry preparations. Ingredients such as Argireline® can reduce facial wrinkles with a “Botox - like” effect on tissue. The majority of the products selected for sale at our office are free of parabens and harsh chemicals that can be harmful and cause an acceleration of the aging process.
